September 26 to 27, 2026: Book Repair Basics

Learn the basics of repairing your books with commercially available "quick" products, as well as a longer tissue-and-wheat paste mending method.  Students will learn how to make paste, mend pages, and whatever else is needed to bring your book back to mechanical use.  Bring a book you want to fix, or practice on a class copy.  Send a photo before class to make sure what you have is a good practice copy, not all repair will be able to be completed in class, but take your knowledge with you and work at your own pace at home. 

All classes take place at Kerner Marbled Studio in Rockland, Maine. Not local? Stay in beautiful Rockland, Maine or the surrounding areas. Many options are available at a variety of costs; suggested list available on request.
